Camp Schedule & Groups

3rd - 5th Grade (12:00 PM - 1:30 PM)

This group will focus on introducing and refining the fundamental skills needed to become a successful basketball player. Emphasizing dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense, campers will participate in skill-building drills that are age appropriate and designed to keep them engaged. Coaches will focus on making the learning process fun and interactive, while laying the groundwork for more advanced techniques in the future.

6th - 8th Grade (1:45 PM - 3:15 PM)

For the older group, the focus will shift to more advanced basketball skills, such as court awareness, strategic decision-making, and enhancing individual skills. Players will work on developing their shooting mechanics, ball handling, defensive positioning, and team-oriented play. This group will also engage in more competitive drills to help athletes become more adaptable and confident in game situations.

Mission: USA Basketball Player Development

At Lincoln High School, we strive to instill the skills and principles taught through the USA Basketball Player Development Program, a curriculum used by players and coaches across the nation. USA Basketball emphasizes a well rounded approach to development that promotes not only athletic excellence but also sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership. Through structured drills, focused skill development, and team-building exercises, our camp will give young athletes a deeper understanding of the game, ensuring they have the tools to succeed on the court and beyond.

Three-Week Skill Development Program

Over the course of three weeks, participants will gradually build their basketball skills in a supportive and positive environment. Each week is designed to focus on different aspects of the game, with specific goals set for every session:

Week 1: Fundamentals & Building a Strong Foundation

During the first week, players will learn and refine their basic skills. This includes mastering ball-handling, passing techniques, footwork, and the mechanics of shooting. Coaches will work with players to build confidence in their ability to execute these fundamental skills in both practice and game settings.

Week 2: Advanced Skill Development & Team Play

In week two, we’ll take things to the next level. Players will work on improving their basketball IQ, learning more advanced techniques in dribbling, shooting, and defense. They’ll also begin to understand the importance of teamwork and communication on the court. Team-oriented drills will help athletes understand how their individual skills contribute to overall success in a game.

Week 3: Competition & Putting Skills to the Test

The final week will be dedicated to competition and live-game situations. Players will participate in scrimmages, 3-on-3, and 5-on-5 games, applying the skills they’ve learned in real-game environments. Coaches will provide feedback and guidance during these competitive sessions, helping players improve in real-time. The week will culminate with a mini-tournament to give players a chance to showcase their improvement and enjoy the thrill of competition.
