The DTS Falcons After School Program takes place at the Downtown Elementary School and is led by Downtown School teachers and community partners. Please see all the club offerings below.

All School Sing Club: Mrs. Badger will be having 5th graders interested in leading All School Sing join her in an after-school club. Activities may include finding new happenings at DTS, taking pictures, videos, doing interviews, and preparing for the next event. This club is for 5th graders only.

Art Club (K-3): Art Club is a fun exploration club for younger students to learn about artists and try new art styles. This club is for kindergarten-3rd Grade students only.

Art Club (4-5): Art Club for 4th and 5th graders to explore different arts with a local entrepreneurial artist and DTS parent, Britney Brown.

Free Play Club: DTS parent volunteers will be offering a club for students to have an opportunity to build essential social skills in a supervised environment. Students will build skills such as cooperation, creativity, and communication by playing with their fellow DTS students in a free gym space. Rosie Reader Book club: The Rosie Reader Book Club facilitated by the Des Moines Public Library works to build literacy skills through read-alouds and various activities. Students will learn about books and the public library in this fun, literacy-based club! For K-2 students only.

STEAM in Pop Culture Club: The Science Center of Iowa will be partnering with DTS to provide STEAM enrichment to 2nd-5th graders interested in learning in the after-school setting. Learn and explore how high- and low-tech STEAM concepts are utilized in popular culture.

Yearbook Club: Mrs. Jones will be leading a club for 4th and 5th graders who want to help make the DTS yearbook special. Activities may include taking pictures after school, customizing sections of the yearbook, finding more memories to add, and more.
