High School Girls Flag Football League
Get ready for an exciting season of 7-on-7 girls' flag football! This league is open to high school students and provides a great opportunity to develop skills, compete, and have fun in a team environment.
League Details
- Team Size: Maximum of 15 players per team
- Football: Youth-size football (Wilson TDY or USA Football Youth) Size 7.
- Equipment: Flags, balls, and other necessary equipment will be provided on game day. Loaner equipment is available but must be returned after use.
- League Shirt: Each participant will receive a league T-shirt.
Registration & Team Assignment
- Players can register individually.
- During registration, players must indicate their current school for team placement.
(Example: Roosevelt HS, Urbandale HS, Johnston HS, etc.) - Schools may have multiple teams depending on participation numbers.
Games & Practices
- Game Day: Sundays, between 3:00 – 5:00 PM
- Practice Schedule: Determined by the volunteer coach
- Coaching: Teams are responsible for securing a volunteer coach or coaches and organizing their own practice schedule.
Field & Rules
- Field Size:
- Length: 60 yards
- Width: 25 yards
- No-Run Zone: 5 yards before the goal line
- Scoring:
- Touchdown: 6 points
- Extra Points:
- 1 point from the 5-yard line
- 2 points from the 10-yard line
- Defensive Touchdown on a PAT Attempt: 2 points
- Safety: 2 points

Girls flag football is growing in popularity across the country, with more states sanctioning the sport and others in pilot programs. Come join our league and experience all of the fun! Girls will be placed on teams based on their school.
